oxygen sensor problems for cars

I have a Nissan Maxima 2000 and lately I have been having a lot of problems with it. Especially the "check engine" light and idle problems. I took it to the local auto shop and they changed out the O2 sensor and it ran fine for a while, then the check engine light would come on and my car wouldn't idle (it just dies when no gas is applied). Took it back to the shop and now there was a problem with the idle control valve! Geez, my maxima is really costing me an arm and a leg. Anyone else having the same problem with their Nissan Maximas?
